Starlink kits, honestly.
SpaceX isn't Canadian — this is our resale-only lane, stated plainly. We resell the kit and contract the professional install: obstruction survey, mounts, cable routing, commissioning, and on-site WiFi distribution. The kit is the easy part; the install is what makes it work.
Current kits & plans
Starlink Standard Kit
The full-size dish for homes, lodges, and fixed installations. Currently listed around $499–$649 CAD outright at Canadian retailers (Best Buy, Home Depot, Costco Canada) — or free hardware rental with a 12-month Residential commitment.
Starlink Mini
The portable option — backpackable, DC-powered, made for RVs, boats, and mobile work. Currently listed around $249–$399 CAD.
Residential plans currently run about $75–$150/mo CAD depending on tier. Starlink reprices often — verify at purchase. We resell the kit; the service plan is between you and Starlink.
Contracted install: $299/$449+ depending on mount complexity, cable runs, and distribution scope.
Field note
Trees are the whole story on this coast. The dish isn't the hard part — the sky view is. I survey the obstructions before I talk mounts or mesh, because a dish staring at cedar is a $500 decoration.
What the professional install covers
- Obstruction survey. Before anything is mounted, we assess sky view. Trees are the #1 killer of Starlink performance on the coast — a dish with a blocked view drops constantly, and no settings fix that.
- Mounts. Roof, eave, pole, or non-penetrating mounts spec'd for coastal wind loading — not the box-store J-mount wobbling in a January storm.
- Cable routing. Clean, weatherproof routing into the building — no cable draped across the siding.
- Mesh and WiFi distribution. Add-on mesh nodes and point-to-point links to cover guest cabins, shops, and docks from the single dish. See our lodge builds for what's possible.
What it can't do
It needs clear sky view — no exceptions. Heavy tree cover without a clearing or a tall enough mount means constant drops. If your property can't see the sky, we'll say so before you buy.
No speed guarantees. Starlink performance varies with network load, weather, and obstructions. Anyone promising you a fixed number is guessing. We design for your use case — remote work, lodge operations, streaming — and size the system to it.
It's not a cellular replacement for mobile use. Starlink serves the property; your phone still needs cellular (or WiFi calling over the Starlink connection) when you leave.

Common questions
Do I buy the kit from you?
You order the hardware directly from Starlink — that keeps the warranty clean and the account in your name. We handle everything from the mount up: assessment, mounting, routing, network setup. Contracted install runs $299/$449+ depending on mount complexity, cable runs and distribution scope.
What does the professional install cover?
Obstruction survey, mounts spec’d for coastal wind loading, clean weatherproof cable routing, and mesh/WiFi distribution add-ons — mesh nodes and point-to-point links for guest cabins, shops and docks.
Does Starlink work in heavy rain?
Heavy rain degrades any satellite link temporarily — that’s physics, not a defect. A properly mounted dish with clear sky rides out normal coastal weather; the mount won’t move in the wind. We don’t guarantee speeds — performance varies with network load, weather and obstructions.
Start with the survey.
The $89 survey includes a sky-view assessment — we'll tell you honestly whether Starlink will work at your property. Credited toward an install within 30 days.
